Use this as a reference

Project Background: A Hong Kong Gathering for the Football Industry

World Football Summit brings together professionals from across the football industry. In September 2025, the event came to AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, with the project account recording club representatives and industry participants from 90 countries. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to produce the official aftermovie, documenting the event and its Hong Kong setting for international audiences.

Visual Approach: People, Ideas and Energy

An energetic edit brought key moments from the two-day summit into a concise highlights film:

Recognisable Football Figures: The camera followed talks and interactions featuring Rio Ferdinand, Carles Puyol, Fabio Capello and Javier Zanetti, among other prominent football figures, giving the film a view of their participation in the summit.

Presenting the Event Figures: The film incorporated figures supplied in the project account, including more than 3,627 attendees and 194 participating organisations, to communicate the reported scale of the event.

The Wider Atmosphere: From conference discussions to the gala dinner, the film recorded the networking and exchange of ideas around the summit, reflecting its “Bridging Continents” theme and the Hong Kong setting.

In Use: An Official Record for International Audiences

The aftermovie gave the organisers a record of the event under the idea of “Asia’s rise in football”. It also provided a film that could be shared through social channels with the wider international football community.

Production breakdown

Objective

Shape World Football Summit Hong Kong into an aftermovie that extends the event's value after the conference ends.

Challenge

Conference coverage has to capture stage content, networking, venue, crowd and brand presence. A pure record of the run-of-show is not enough.

Approach

  • Built shot priorities around main stage, networking areas, guest moments and brand visibility.
  • Captured event scale through wide shots, speaker moments and detail coverage.
  • Edited the material into a paced aftermovie that supports post-event promotion.

Deliverables

  • Conference aftermovie
  • Event coverage footage
  • Social highlight cuts
  • Brand recap film

Reference value

Useful for summits, conferences, B2B events, exhibitions and large networking events.

Q&A

What kind of event is World Football Summit?+

World Football Summit connects stakeholders including clubs, leagues, sponsors and media organisations. This official highlights film documented the Hong Kong event, with FIFA representatives and industry participants discussing the future of football business, technology and innovation.

Which football figures feature in the official highlights film?+

The project account names Rio Ferdinand, Carles Puyol, Pierluigi Collina and Javier Zanetti among those attending in Hong Kong. Darkroom Studio followed their participation, recording stage presentations and interactions with fans away from the conference sessions.

How did Darkroom Studio present Hong Kong as a setting for major events?+

The film combined business and leisure. Alongside professional exchanges at the exhibition venue, the camera followed football figures taking the Peak Tram and an open-top bus tour. Editing these scenes with Victoria Harbour views connected the summit with the city’s visitor experience.

How long should a conference aftermovie be?+

It depends on the channel. Website or LinkedIn can carry a fuller recap; social versions should be shorter and sharper.

Should B2B event films capture networking?+

Yes. Networking often communicates event value and audience quality more effectively than stage footage alone.
