Vitasoy San Sui: A Fresh Look for Organic Soybeans

Use this as a reference

Project Background: A Familiar Drink with a New Look

San Sui Fresh Soy Milk, part of Vitasoy’s range, has an established presence in Hong Kong. For its packaging refresh, the brand needed a brisk bumper ad that could catch attention in a few seconds. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to communicate two messages on digital platforms: the new packaging and the use of “Grade 1 organic soybeans”.

Visual Approach: Impact in Six Seconds

The film used a simple, focused visual approach suited to short-form viewing:

A Fresh, Nature-Inspired Setting: Saturated grass-green and blue-sky tones echoed the natural associations of the San Sui name and its organic positioning, creating a fresh first impression.

Product-Centred Motion: Fluid motion graphics introduced four flavours with bouncing and popping movements. This energetic entrance displayed the new packaging across the range and supported a youthful, fresh brand character.

A Clear Message: Within seven seconds, animated text announcing “New packaging” and “Grade 1 organic soybeans” worked with the voiceover to make the main product messages easy to follow.

In Use: Communicating a Packaging Refresh

The film gave the refreshed packaging a concise visual introduction. Its brisk rhythm was intended for short digital placements such as YouTube bumper ads and Instagram Stories, helping viewers recognise the new look.

Q&A

What defines the visual approach of this San Sui packaging launch commercial?+

We used a simple visual treatment for the packaging refresh, with saturated grass-green and blue-sky tones reflecting the San Sui name and its organic positioning. Motion graphics introduced four flavours with bouncing and popping movements, bringing a youthful, energetic quality to the brand within a six-second format.

How did Darkroom Studio approach a bumper ad for digital platforms?+

For short placements such as YouTube bumper ads or Instagram Reels, less is more. We avoided a lengthy introduction and focused on product-centred animation. Across seven seconds, clear text such as “New packaging” and “Grade 1 organic soybeans”, together with brisk editing, put the essential message in front of viewers as they scrolled.

Why might an FMCG brand use motion graphics to introduce new packaging?+

Packaging is an early point of contact between a consumer and an FMCG brand. A motion-graphics film can introduce a new design quickly and present a complete product range within one visual system. Animation also gives flexibility in arranging and moving products, helping make the packaging refresh clear and engaging.
