L’Atelier 1664 — Hins Me Time: A French-Inspired Moment with Hins Cheung
Use this as a referenceProject Background: A French-Inspired Art of Living
1664 Blanc opened L’Atelier 1664, a pop-up experience in Central, to introduce its “Good Taste with a Twist” brand idea. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to create a promotional short film that followed brand ambassador Hins Cheung through a setting combining French-inspired elegance and contemporary art.
Visual Approach: Elegance with a Playful Touch
A fashion-editorial approach connected the performer’s presence with the brand’s visual identity:
Colour Palette: The imagery followed the brand’s visual identity, combining deep “1664 blue” with champagne gold and reflections from crystal lighting. These colours framed 1664 Brut and created a polished yet relaxed atmosphere for “Hins Me Time”.
Capturing the Performer: Hins Cheung’s performance was composed and unhurried. Fluid camerawork followed him through the venue as he looked at artworks and tasted the beer, giving the idea of enjoying the moment a tangible visual form.
Rhythm and Mood: Light, jazz-influenced music accompanied crisp, fluid editing suited to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. The 15-second format brought together the main visual moments in a concise film.
In Use: A Social Film for the Pop-Up Experience
The short combined Hins Cheung’s presence with a considered visual treatment to introduce L’Atelier 1664 on social platforms. It was designed to encourage viewers to explore the venue and connect the online campaign with the physical experience.

Q&A
How did the film connect Hins Cheung’s image with the 1664 brand?+
Built around “Good Taste with a Twist”, the film presented the French-inspired lifestyle of “Hins Me Time” through the eyes of brand ambassador Hins Cheung. A fashion-editorial shooting style captured him looking at art and tasting 1664 Brut at L’Atelier 1664, connecting his personality with the brand’s art de vivre theme.
How did Darkroom Studio communicate 1664’s premium visual identity?+
Colour was central to the film. We followed the brand identity, using its recognisable deep “1664 blue” as a foundation, with champagne-gold accents and reflections from crystal lighting. The contrasting colour grade gave the product a crisp appearance and the setting a French-inspired sense of occasion.
What editing approach did you use to promote the pop-up?+
To engage social media audiences quickly, we worked within a short-form content structure. Light, jazz-influenced music and brisk, fluid editing suited the viewing habits of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. The concentrated visual sequence was intended to introduce the venue and encourage an in-person visit.
Is a celebrity campaign just about filming the celebrity?+
No. The celebrity is the entry point, but the brand world, product message and environment need to carry the film too.
What should a brand experience film capture?+
Beyond the flow of the event, capture product detail, interaction, venue texture and shareable social moments.
