One Central Place: Architecture and Living in the Heart of Central
Use this as a referenceProject background: presenting a Central address
Located at 33 Gage Street in Central, One Central Place is an urban residential development by Sino Group. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to create a series of brand films expressing its approach to living in the heart of Central. The brief extended beyond recording the building to convey the atmosphere of ‘Masterclass Living’.
Visual approach: from the wider setting to the smallest detail
The film uses several complementary perspectives to explain the development:
Location and connections: Aerial footage establishes One Central Place in relation to IFC, The Center and nearby bank headquarters. On-screen walking-time information for Central and Hong Kong stations explains the transport connections presented in the film.
Contemporary living: Fluid camera movement explores the interior details, from Gaggenau appliances to the smart-home systems, creating a view of a contemporary home with warmth and character.
Clubhouse facilities: The film explores the clubhouse, including the gym, The Conservatory and the planted Garden Theatre, showing quieter green spaces within the urban setting.
Creative outcome: a considered property story
The film brings together One Central Place's location and design. Its visual presentation gives the client material for communicating the development's character and proposed lifestyle to prospective residents and buyers.

Q&A
How does the film show the value of a location in the heart of Central?+
The film captures the energy and cultural character of nearby Peel Street and contrasts it with the quieter interiors of One Central Place, a Sino Group development. Moving between the busy central business district and the residential spaces expresses the idea of a calm home connected to an active city neighbourhood.
What visual style did Darkroom Studio use for this property film?+
We used a cinematic approach to architectural filming, reflecting the development's focus on considered living. Careful lighting brings out the lines of the facade and the textures of the interiors. Lifestyle shots add a human perspective, helping viewers imagine how the spaces could be experienced as a home.
Why use storytelling in a luxury residential film?+
For a centrally located development such as One Central Place, a film can explain more than its physical specifications. A narrative built around the surrounding neighbourhood, interior spaces and daily experiences offers viewers a way to consider the proposed lifestyle. This can complement the factual information used in property marketing.
