Shure 100th Anniversary: Running for Extraordinary Sound
Use this as a referenceProject background: marking a century of sound
Shure marked its hundredth anniversary in 2025 with celebrations around the world. To recognise a century of pursuing ‘Extraordinary Sound’, the Hong Kong team organised a 100 km relay running challenge — a way to look ahead to the company's next chapter while celebrating the distance already travelled.
Visual approach: movement within the city
We filmed from several perspectives to show both the activity and its Hong Kong setting:
Aerial views of familiar landmarks: Drone footage follows runners around the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, West Kowloon Cultural District and Victoria Harbour waterfront, placing the corporate event within the city's recognisable skyline.
An energetic rhythm: Gimbal and 360-degree camera footage follows the runners at ground level. It records the forty-eight associates encouraging one another, putting in the effort and celebrating at the finish.
Information in motion: Animated figures — ‘100 YEARS’, ‘100 KM’ and ‘48 ASSOCIATES’ — explain the scale of the challenge and connect it with the anniversary milestone.
Creative outcome: a shared record of the challenge
The film records the event and gives employees a shared account of their participation. It presents the Hong Kong team's energy, cooperation and commitment to an audience that includes the company's international partners.

Q&A
What was the purpose of the Running for Extraordinary Sound event?+
The event celebrated the audio brand's hundredth anniversary. Running provided a way to express movement, persistence and the continuing pursuit of sound quality. The film follows employees through the outdoor challenge and celebrations as they mark the milestone together.
How does Darkroom Studio film a fast-moving team event?+
For running events, we use a flexible, mobile filming approach. Camera operators follow participants from different viewpoints, recording effort, encouragement and the reactions at the finish. A brisk musical edit brings these moments together while retaining the interactions that make the event personal to the team.
How can an anniversary event film support employer communications?+
An event film can serve as both an internal record and material for introducing a workplace to others. By showing real participation and interaction, it offers employees and potential recruits a view of company culture. It complements other employer communications without replacing evidence of the everyday working experience.
