Hang Lung Properties — We Do It Well: A Story of Cities and Everyday Life
Use this as a referenceThe Brief: A Brand Story beyond Buildings
Hang Lung Properties develops and operates properties in Hong Kong and mainland China. Its corporate film was intended to introduce that portfolio to stakeholders while communicating the brand philosophy We Do It Well. Darkroom Studio’s task was to turn buildings and everyday activity into a moving expression of the brand.
The Approach: Architecture and Everyday Life
The film uses several complementary perspectives to present the company’s property portfolio and service approach:
Wide Views and Close Details: Aerial shots establish the scale of the buildings, while close-ups follow people interacting in shopping centres and offices. From Plaza 66 in Shanghai to Fashion Walk in Hong Kong, the camera connects properties across different cities.
A Focus on the Customer Experience: People give the spaces their purpose. The edit emphasises how customers use them, whether shopping, meeting for business or taking time out. These scenes introduce the Hang Lung experience through everyday activity and the service supporting it.
A Sustainability Perspective: Views of green-building elements and contemporary design introduce the brand’s environmental, social and governance priorities as part of the wider corporate story.
The Finished Film: A Corporate Identity in Motion
Fluid camera movement and an expansive musical score bring the portfolio and its day-to-day activity together. The film presents the company’s approach to quality, service and urban life in a format that can be shared with stakeholders.
