PAPRIKA — Treasure Box Collection: An Underwater Treasure Hunt
Use this as a referenceThe Brief: Discovering an Ocean-Inspired Collection
PAPRIKA launched its Treasure Box handbag collection with a #PaprikaByTheSea party. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to document the event, capturing its ocean-inspired setting and the guests’ interactions to express the brand’s refined, romantic character.
The Approach: Fantasy Meets Craft
Soft colour and fluid camera movement take the viewer into an underwater-inspired world:
An Ocean-Inspired Setting: The camera picks out suspended illuminated jellyfish, a shimmering sequin wall and a giant pearl shell. Together, these installations establish the By The Sea atmosphere and connect the setting with the collection’s theme.
The Collection, Worn by the Guests: The film follows Grace Chan and Sulin as they try on the bags. Their relaxed, confident presentation shows the collection’s different colours and designs in use.
Personalisation and Craft: Close-ups document the leather hot-stamping workshop, from selecting the letter stamps to pressing names such as Sulin and Doris into the material. The sequence shows how guests could personalise a bag and make it their own.
The Finished Film: Bringing the Event Online
The film translates the atmosphere of the launch into a piece of online visual content. Guest appearances, product details and the ocean-inspired setting provide a way to introduce the new PAPRIKA collection beyond the event itself.

Q&A
How does the event film create the By The Sea atmosphere?+
Darkroom Studio used fluid camera movement to explore the underwater-inspired setting. Illuminated jellyfish, shimmering sequins and giant shell installations provide the visual details, while blue lighting and reflective surfaces convey the romance and mystery of an oceanic fantasy that connects directly with the Treasure Box collection’s treasure-hunt theme.
How are celebrity appearances used to present the collection?+
The film centres on Grace Chan ’s natural presentation of the bags. Rather than relying only on static product poses, the camera follows her and Sulin trying on bags and looking in the mirror, capturing authentic moments. These interactions show how the bags can be styled and place the products within the fashion-led atmosphere of the launch.
How does the film show the brand’s personalisation service?+
The leather hot-stamping workshop is shown in close detail, from choosing the metal letter stamps to the moment a guest’s name is pressed into the material. The sequence makes the craft and the personalisation process visible, explaining how a guest can turn a bag from the collection into an individual keepsake.
