Charlotte Tilbury — Pillow Talk Party: Brand Activation Highlights

Use this as a reference

The Brief: A Pink Pop-Up Experience

To celebrate new additions to its Pillow Talk collection, Charlotte Tilbury created a Pillow Talk Party pop-up. Darkroom Studio was commissioned to produce an energetic promotional film, presenting the interactive setting through the experiences of the influencers taking part.

The Approach: Playful and Glamorous

Light, playful editing presents the beauty experience as a lively gathering of friends:

A World of Pink: The camera explores the pop-up’s oversized pink telephone booth, neon lip motifs and glitter-filled transparent photo installation. Saturated pink gives the sequence a coherent visual identity and shows the spaces visitors could photograph.

Playful Interactions: Alongside the product trials, the film follows influencers trying the high-striker game and answering the telephone installation. These moments bring movement and humour to the edit and express the brand’s Fun & Fabulous personality.

Product Details: Close-ups of the Pillow Talk eyeshadow palette and lipstick sit within the party footage. Shots of the guests’ completed make-up looks show how the products appear when worn.

The Campaign Focus: Sharing the Pop-Up Experience

The short film presents Pillow Talk Party as both a shopping destination and a place to play. Made for sharing on Instagram and YouTube, it introduces the setting and invites viewers to experience the pop-up for themselves.

Q&A

How does the film reflect Pillow Talk’s signature colours?+

Pillow Talk’s nude-pink palette informed the colour grade. Darkroom Studio brought the event lighting and décor into a consistent dreamy pink look. From the oversized lipstick installation and pink ball pool to the neon wall, the film uses colour to connect the space with the collection’s romantic styling.

How were the influencers’ and guests’ interactions captured?+

Sharing was part of the event experience. The camera follows influencers and guests posing at the photo booth, trying new products and taking selfies, recording moments made for social sharing. Fast-paced editing and lively music carry their enthusiasm into the film, creating a sense of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) around the event and an invitation to explore the brand.

How does the film balance the party with the products?+

The products remain central to the event coverage. The edit uses natural product placement, moving between the guests and carefully arranged product displays. Shallow-depth-of-field close-ups reveal the eyeshadow’s shimmer and the lipstick’s finish, giving viewers room to notice the products within the party’s energy.
